Fandom Applications

Here you can apply for your character of choice from your fandom of choice. Please make sure that you've read the Game Info and FAQ before applying, as well as checking the Taken Characters list and the Reservations list. If you've reserved the character you're applying for, make sure you tell us somewhere on your application, and also make sure to reply back to the Reservations list so said character can be taken off. The moderator has every right to ask for additional information/samples before accepting or rejecting any character, and will exercise her ability to do so. So please keep that in mind while applying!

Also, please note: We do not allow alternate universe/multiple forms of the same character. Previously, there was an exception with the fandom Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, but it is no longer applicable. YOU MAY NOT APPLY FOR A DIFFERENT VERSION OF A KHR CHARACTER THAT'S ALREADY TAKEN. NO EXCEPTIONS! I apologize for the inconvenience and/or any disappointments this may generate from this. Any current duplicates in game are grandfathered. Thank you for understanding!

If you are accepted, make sure you follow all of the instructions in the comment given to you on your application.

If you are rejected, you may reapply after a one-week grace period. If you have any questions as to why you were not accepted, you may email one or both of the mods or contact us on AIM.

Also please note we may not accept applications in the order they are submitted (although we really try to do it that way as much as possible) due to moderator availability or knowledge of certain fandoms (we'd really like to make sure we get the best possible opinion/reviews of your applications.)

All applications will eventually be looked at, so please be patient!

Character: Leon S. Kennedy
Series: Resident Evil
Timeline: Post-RE4
Wiki Us a Bio/History: Since Leon’s Wiki is made of fail and lose, have a compilation of official bios. (I know they don’t do much for Leon other than reiterate that he was young and stupid in RE2, but bear with me. There aren’t really any fanshrines out there that go into his character, and Wiki only talks about canonical events—not personality.) And just for fun, have Ada’s report on Leon , too. (because videos are always more fun!) ♥
Elaborate, if necessary: Leon’s had a pretty eventful life, and none of these events were good things. He’s a sucker with bad fortune but incredible luck, as he seems to get himself into the worst situations possible, yet somehow manages to come out of it alive and kicking.

He graduates at the top of his class in police academy only to be cop for a day. He becomes a terrorist in order to bring down an international organization that only rebuilds itself when he’s done. He becomes a Secret Service agent only to… well, at least that’s one thing he’s good at. Throw in some zombies, mad scientists, mind-controlling parasites, and betrayal, and that’s Leon’s adult life in a nutshell.

All of his relationships with people throughout the Resident Evil are shady and ambiguous at best. It’s hinted that he’s still at least friendly with Claire Redfield, but no real details are ever given. He apparently spoke with Chris Redfield once in canon, but we never get to see it. Sherry Birkin seems to have been taken from him at some point after Resident Evil 2, but we never learn how or why. We’re supposed to assume that he continues to protect Ashley Graham after the events of Resident Evil 4, but we never see if a real friendship forms. We know that Leon knows of Albert Wesker, but it’s never said if the two have ever met or spoken in person. Leon’s relationship with Ada Wong is the most confusing; she used the word love—he didn’t. She’s deviated from her primary mission and orders to save his life—he didn’t. And yet he still appears to hold some concern for her. And it has never ever been stated whether or not Leon has so much as spoken with the other main characters of the series.

Though Leon’s relationships with his canonical “partners” are very, very badly explained, his outgoing personality will more than fill in the gaps that Capcom left behind. He’s a bit of a dork with a roll-your-eyes sense of humor, and he has an ego and a sex drive to rival that of the most prominent alpha males. His experiences both in Raccoon City and against Umbrella have left him slightly cynical and jaded, making it hard for him to trust most people, but he’s not so far gone that he can’t see who’s on his side and who’s not. Below his somewhat hard exterior, though, he’s really a sweet guy with a big heart who just wants to help people and honestly wants to make the world a better place… even if it doesn’t always outwardly show.

What are they bringing to Nuadoria?: Leon will only be coming in with everything he’s normally pictured with: a knife, a gun, and a light on his belt. It will also be assumed he has a few extra clips of ammo and some healing items.

Third-Person Sample: His head was pounding.

Leon knelt on what he assumed to be a sidewalk that he watched spin and shift constantly as he stared down at it. Every one of his limbs tingled, right down to the tips of his fingers, and blood pounded between his ears. He didn’t dare move too much in any one direction, as he seemed to completely lose any semblance of balance and control any time he did.

He wasn’t entirely sure what had happened. He had just barely checked out of the hospital after his lovely traipse through Spain—a two-week long stay at the hospital, as a matter of fact. That alone was enough to make him panic when he’d dropped to his knees in a sudden wave of vertigo so strong he couldn’t even so much as move.

The first thought through his head was that the damn doctors had screwed up, as doctors were wont to do. They’d fucked up and Leon still had a Las Plagas squirming inside of him, and now it was too late to do anything about it. But after what appeared to be a few minutes had gone by and he hadn’t become violent or out of control, his mind wandered again. Had he become addicted to the painkillers that they’d given him, and now he couldn’t function without them?

Closing his eyes and willing himself to move, he pushed his weight back onto his heels and attempted to sit upright. The only thing he could think about was Ashley— was she suffering from the same malady? Was she okay? Hell, had she even been released from the hospital yet? Chest heaving, he opened his eyes and waited for his vision to focus.

His mouth dropped open slightly at the sight before him.

Yeah. It was the drugs. It had to be… right?

First-Person Sample:

[Voice post]

What the… uh…

Hey! Stop!

[the sound of running. Then silence. A sigh.]

Great. Just my luck.

By the way, if anyone lost a phone, I have it. Name’s Leon. I’m—

[a sudden yelp of surprise, the sound of someone stumbling. Heavy breathing.]

Ugh. What is this place?

Character: Henry Townshend (reserved).
Series: Silent Hill.
Timeline: Crawling into the hole after the first go-round in Forest World.
Wiki Us a Bio/History: His Wiki.
Elaborate, if necessary: Henry is shy, but pleasant. With something of a social withdrawal issue he doesn't make friends easily, though he's willing to help out anyone in trouble at the cost of his own safety. Or, at least, he doesn't object to them tagging along or sending him on fetch quests.

He is also a talented photographer and primarily takes pictures of old buildings that have, or appear to have, an interesting history, so it's safe to say that he can see beyond the surface to the hidden potential.

On top of everything else, Henry has experience in eerie places and the unimagineable creatures and goings-on therein. He's not a trained fighter, nor much of a strategist, but has wielded a number of melee weapons with ease.

As far as relationships, canon shows us that he hasn't grown particularly close to anyone in the apartments during the entire two years he's lived there, though he is on a first-name basis with Frank Sunderland, the building's superintendent. Some of the other residences know of him, but it seems to be more out of concern that Something Strange is Going On than any real personal connection to Henry.
What are they bringing to Nuadoria?: His camera and steel pipe.

Third-Person Sample: The road stretched for miles both ways, lined by drabbily painted homes and small businesses. They gave off the impression of insubstantial cut-outs, prime to collapse should anyone blow on them or tip them over in the slightest. Henry Townshend felt like doing neither and scrambled to his feet, dusting his hands free of the loose gravel that bit into them when he pushed off of the sidewalk. It appeared he had found himself in another dream, another dreary setting. The sky hung gray and low and heavy and the air held a ghostly chill that seeped into the marrow of his bones. He hugged himself for warmth, only it took a while for him to feel any sensation at all. His whole being had gone numb for a moment, as if his soul had to catch up with his body.

Henry figured he'd have the pattern down by the third time: wriggle his way through that hole, dream about some creepy, seemingly abandoned urban setting and meet one other person who'd eventually die in a grisly fashion. After that, he would wake up atop the covers in his bedroom, blanket and pillows heated by his body as though he'd been laying there for hours instead of running himself ragged past ghosts and malformed dogs with tongues that could siphon blood from their dead comrades.

Whatever book or magazine article he had been reading to make his subconscious weave and subject itself to such monsters deserved to be burned...

...And that's what had him thinking about Jasper, whose image in Henry's addled mind started out bleary with a dim red-orange glow until it steadily came into focus; someone adjusting the lens of the projector in his head. At first a fuzzy blob until he could make out every writhing angle of Jasper's body as he applied the shattered bulb's filament to his torso, driving the thread of metal into his chest while fire slowly consumed him from the middle out. It spread outward like a bloom and even found its way in Jasper's mouth, turning his tongue into a blackened lump of nothing and he choked as he talked, screaming of devils when he himself very much looked like one.

Dizzy from the memory, Henry leaned against a light post and wearily pressed his hands to his face, breathing in the raw, rubbery scent of burning flesh. He lunged forward, gripping his knees, hacking and gagging as the scent filled his nose. His clothes and hair suddenly reeked of it, and all the violent coughing had him hot and flushed in the face, lungs tight, and he thought he'd burst into flames at any moment. Would he wake up in his bed then? Was the nightmare not yet over?

If he wanted answers, or at least that preternatural passage between here and home, he should start walking.

So he did. Staggering, arms dead at his sides.

First-Person Sample: Is this Ashfield? Or maybe Silent Hill...

...No. Can't be. I -- I don't recognize anything here; the street signs or the stores. Nothing.

Maybe I've made a mistake somewhere.

I just want to wake up.

Character: Son Goten.
Series: Dragon Ball GT.
Timeline: Early GT, just after the first arc ends.
Wiki Us a Bio/History: BAM.
Elaborate, if necessary: Goten is an easy-going teen of the new generation; he grew up on the countryside with his mother and older brother and would often travel into the city to visit his best friend, Trunks. He didn't actually meet his father until he was around seven years old, and while he loves his father very much, the man has.. well. He's not exactly been alive all that much. But, being a near carbon-copy of his father, Goten barely let's anything like that bother him. He's optimistic, friendly, and a bit slow on the uptake, holding a sense of innocence that can, at times, be incredibly frustrating.

He is part alien, of the Saiya-jin race, and part human, meaning that his fighting skills are high above that of an average human. He can transform into a Super Saiyajin without even flinching; a form that increases a Saiya-jin's power greatly, turning his hair blond and his eyes blue. He can also fly and practices ki attacks and control, forming energy blasts from the palm of his hands.

Goten has recently discovered a heavy interest in dating and girls, and traded in his constant training for dates with his girlfriend, Paresu.

What are they bringing to Nuadoria?: His incredibly tacky yellow cell phone, a pack of senzu beans in his back pocket, and an ice cream cone. As cool as he is, Goten's still a country boy; he doesn't usually carry a billion things on him.

Third-Person Sample: He'd been to the city more time than he could count, but without anyone guiding him, Goten did tend to get lost easily. He was running late for a dinner with his current girlfriend, and his cell phone's reception was low. Come to think of it, the part of the city that he'd reached wasn't really familiar at all; usually, when you were in west city, you could see Capsule Corporation's dome-shaped building just over the cityscape. Strange.

He had been at a steady jog for a while, but slowed down, and began jogging in place. "Huh.." looking down at his cell phone once more, he raised a brow. Something weird was happening; the cell phone only had the function of displaying numbers and blocky letters, and yet the display as flipping furiously through television channels, displaying messages from chat rooms and files from countries that he'd never heard of; the screen cut on, off, and on again, before it seemed to fizzle out and die. "What..?!" His eyes went wide. Oh, man. Mom had bought that cell phone for him. She was going to be so angry.

He clasped his hands on either side of his head, his jog spinning around in circles as he tried to come up with some reason for some kind of solution. He groaned; no matter how hard he rattled his head, all he managed to think of was what he'd be eating for dinner--and if he'd even get to eat, given that he really had no idea as to where he was. "Oh, man--Paresu's gonna be waiting there for hours if I don't get a move on!"

With a new goal in sight, Goten took off on foot; as a rule, he and the others weren't allowed to fly unless they were outside of the city or some kind of crisis was happening, and with no car (he couldn't figure out, for the life of him, why his mom wouldn't let him drive. Every time he asked, he only got a mumbled answer about his dad and some kind of driving test.) he had to hoof it.

He burst into a frantic run, nearly tripping over a shorter person, and spinning around a lamp post. He looked back, raising a brow as the lam post seemed to disappear. Without warning, the floor seemed to shift. "Wha--am I getting shorter?"

He looked down. Ah, no ground. Right.

"GYAAH--!" Catching himself in mid-air, Goten huffed, running a hand into his bangs. There had to be something wrong. "Oh, man.." he sighed. "They're all gonna kill me for this one."

First-Person Sample: || VOICE POST

Aaaah! Mom's gonna kill me! She's gonna serve me for dinner and Gohan and Pan won't know the difference! Man, if my cell doesn't start working soon, I--

You know, this really doesn't look like West City.. You can't fall through floors in West City.

.. Wait a second. Where am I? This isn't.. well, it isn't where I was. .. What's this thing on my head!? This looks like some kind of communicator.. am I talking to someone? Hello?! Hey, there's something in my pants! .. It's--what is this thing.. ?! A cell phone?

[there's a small shuffling, then his voice rings out, as he's holding the earpiece directly in front of his mouth.] HELLOOOOOO?!

Look, I can't stay here long. I've got places to go! Gosh, Mom's gonna chew my head off for this one.. which way do I go to get back to West City?

Character: Grencia Mars Elijah Guo Eckener
Series: Cowboy Bebop
Timeline: After Gren's death
Wiki Us a Bio/History: Space Lion
Elaborate, if necessary: Despite being in only two episodes, Gren is a very developed character. His look and sound is ver immediately intriguing as the saxophone player at the Rester House at The Blue Crow on Callisto; a town that has no women, so most of the men are gay as it is, or just dirt balls who want the first woman who may even come to place.
Gren was in the war on Titan with Vicious. Vicious had given him a music box that played a tune called "Julia." and soon Gren was framed and sent to prison for spying, the framing done by Vicious but he had not known. While in prison, Gren was taking drugs for insomnia that caused a hormone imbalance. Gren later had met up with Julia at a bar and she shows him the music box has a transmiter in it. For so long Gren wanted revenge or to even talk to Vicious.
He set up a drug deal with Vicious to confont him in person where he gave a small meaningful talk about comrades. Of course, Vicious and Gren end up shooting at each other.
Gren was looking for answers and he never found the resolution he sought from Vicious...
There isn't enough we know about Gren except that. As to what he can offer, Gren is intelligent and compasionate, and being a war veteran ready to fight if needed. A good fighter and quick, even though not the best, it is easy to assume that Gren has the military training that is needed to make it.

What are they bringing to Nuadoria?: Wallet, passport, gun, assume there will be ammo.

Third-Person Sample: He shouldn't have been alive. The last thing Gren remembered seeing were passing stars and planets, his body failing and the harsh pains leaving him numb. Still Gren was smiling through all of that. At least he(she) could have died going where he last remembered being even remotely happy. Content. Not on the run. Was this death?
After thinking about this for a while, Gren slumped to her feet and was looking down at what he assumed to be a pavement. What was going on now? Wouldn't it have been better to be dead? It must have been Heaven, but Gren never thought he would be lucky enough to get there so this had to be hell.

There he stayed sitting for a while before lifting a weary head and moving black hair from his face. Nothing was going right; Gren felt a heavy heart and wanted to assume what was before him were just drugs doing their thing. Or a surreal dream. Everything had been feeling like a dream anyway; from meeting Faye to calling Vicious, to the fight and even running into Spike. An entire whirlwind all summed up to this.
"I went to hell didn't I?" Oh this is where it all started to make sense. Don't go running off to war killing people? Everything Gren thought he was doing right in his life backfired. Poisoned. Insomnia. Backstabbed. On the run. Go to hell free ticket. So Gren sat there not moving. It didn't matter where he was now. This had to be hell. So when was Satan going to appear and give him punishment? Or was this punishment. At least Gren didn't have to be sick and dying anymore. Going to bed at night and wondering if he would wake up the next day. Really this was all quite fascinating.
"....Great." Gren said to no one particular.

First-Person Sample:
Gotta say, I haven't seen a town like this for years on end. It's a giant culture shock to me, but I don't think it's anything I can't adjust to. I've been in much worse situations. When I think about how bad this is, I know it's going to turn out being more of vacation than I've asked for (not that I have to ask for one anymore).
I don't know where to start. What I really want to do is find the nearest bar for a drink. But all of them are closed and up for grabs or habitation (I could deal with living in a bar). Wouldn't Vodka stay good for years on end anyway? Well, I'd drink it.
Forget it. If I see anyone that looks like they're heading for shelter, I'll follow them.

So, sorry I don't have much to say. But I can't complain either.

Character: Zack Fair
Series: Final Fantasy VII
Timeline: Right before he’s shot to death, as the fight is winding down out of his favor.
Wiki Us a Bio/History: http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Zack_Fair
Elaborate, if necessary: Zack Fair is, of all things, what an old-world story hero would be. Or, he could be, anyway. He is strong, brave, has a ridiculously passionate sense of justice, and an almost rivaling to that sense of compassion. His personality shows he is very friendly, easily amused (and happy to joke to make a serious situation seem less heavy), always eager to see the good in people, a bit too trusting, a rather huge flirt, and loyal to a very painful fault. He would die for you in a heartbeat if you convinced him you were worth it. And it wouldn’t take much to convince him at all. And if you betray him? It’d take a hell of a lot for him to not welcome you back with open arms should you have a change of heart.

Zack is introduced as a very impulsive, carefree, and confident 2nd Class SOLDIER under the wing of Angeal Hewley, with a dream ‘to become a hero’. While extremely talented, he’s very quick to make light of a situation (to a point of dorky idiocy, at times) due to his ego, and often falls face first as a result. Lucky for him, Zack never really understood the word ‘quit’ and continuously picks himself back up again. His rise to the ranks of 1st Class and the eventually descent to his death is somewhat of a bittersweet relay of events. By the end of the line, Zack is shaped with added characteristics typical with his experiences: While he never loses his most important traits nor his ability to make light of a serious situation, he does become somewhat calmer, wiser, and a bit more distrusting of the world around him.

Zack’s relationships seem far and wide, but I’ll list his most important ones which revolve around Angeal, Cloud, Aerith, and Sephiroth.

Angeal was his mentor and dear friend, someone he looked up to and wanted to help until the very end. Even after Angeal’s death, Zack is constantly looking to him for support, asking for his advice and hoping he can live up to what Angeal expected of him. He received the Buster Sword from Angeal.

It was difficult to tell from the original canon, but Crisis Core and even Advent Children reflect on Zack’s relationship with Cloud. While Zack and Cloud didn’t have a lot of time together to really make a BFF relationship, it was pretty obvious they hit it off well and were at the very least decent friends. Cloud looks up to Zack, and Zack is eager to see Cloud succeed. And while Zack would sacrifice himself for a lot of people, he does ultimately get himself killed, sparing Cloud’s life in the process. He also hands off the Buster Sword to Cloud before he dies, hinting that Cloud is important enough to him to pass his mentor’s legacy over to the other.

Zack meets Aerith after being knocked from the Midgar Sector 5 plate and falls through the roof of her church (lololol wut). While Zack is a flirt in general, he seems quite a bit more taken with Aerith than the others. Their relationship is innocent and she is his support when he needs it most. They officially date, although Zack’s disappearance after the Nibelheim incident pretty much ends that (along with Tseng being a huge asshole and withholding a bunch of letters Aerith wrote to Zack and oh my god Tseng, you fail). It’s unclear if Aerith is ever really over it, but Zack’s reaction to her “final” letter pretty much says he’s not and at least wants to know where their relationship stands (and probably if they can fix it). In fact, it’s revealed the reason Zack travels back to Midgar with Cloud is to see Aerith again.

Zack is a Sephiroth fanboy at the beginning, no question about it. Their relationship ultimately is probably one of a weak friendship, and more of a respect level than anything. At least until Sephiroth goes psychotic.

What are they bringing to Nuadoria?: Buster Sword, some equipped materia, cell phone.

Third Person Sample: Was he dead? He thought… no he knew he had been dying. Severely injured, trying to futilely overcome possible odds. He’d lost despite his mind having tried so hard to claw its way out of drowning, to stop from losing normal function. But where was the finale of death that was supposed to come after?

Zack turned to look, surveying the rather empty city surroundings he was in. A look of disdain smeared on his features like heavy paint. Oh, great.

He’d remembered a time when he would have found this exciting: a time when Angeal would roll his eyes and tell him to stop acting like an idiot, a smile suppressed under stern features. He also remembered a time when he would have found this situation troublesome: protecting what he believed in and not giving up on those who he believed in. And then, he remembered a time – a very recent time, even, he thought – where he would of found this necessary to overcome: a time when Cloud was who needed protecting the most and Aerith was the only reason to ever think about turning back.

Now?

Zack just found this situation to be typical: ridiculous, unexpected, and again him being the last one to know anything. But, what could he do? He would deal with it, obviously. What else was there to do? With his previous expression melted, the soldier felt a slight wave of unexpected dizziness occur. He snorted in temporary defeat and swung from his standing position to a slightly pensive crouch, hoping the feeling would subside.

“Man, what a tough situation,” he said aloud finally, looking completely put out. Part of him wanted to panic, but every other ounce of him rallied ‘no’ from exhaustion. Panicking wouldn’t help, anyway. It never did, even though Zack had had his fair share of freak outs. His mind still felt shaky, stripped of pieces that he’d very much preferred to keep. Or at least there had been an attempt to strip it. Everything was still in tact, he thought. Unfortunately, he wouldn’t have been surprised to later find out he was forgetting something. Whether or not that was because of his current condition or just him being himself was another question all together. With a loud sigh, he pushed his hand up against his forehead and continued the movement through his hair as he flopped back from his crouch to sit.

Okay, then.

His hand reached into his pocket and brushed against the remnants of a cell-phone and a piece of paper. He pulled out both, first flipping the phone open in pure curiosity. The battery still worked for some reason. The note received his attention next, albeit a bit more hesitantly. A crumpled, simple note: elegant handwriting scribbled with words and a tone that made him once again so very confused and distraught. Gritting his teeth, he looked away from the letter. There was no point in thinking about it, regretting it, or still not understanding it. He had more important things to worry about, right? He crunched the letter in his fist before shoving it away into the depths of his pocket. There had been nothing else, then. This was how he’d failed: how he’d died. Or how he’d ended up not dying, because despite what logic said, he was pretty sure he was very much alive. And at least that was definitely a plus. The thing to focus on wasn’t the past, but the present he was currently in.

For starters, he needed to figure out where he was.

First Person: …Shit, okay… I -- Zack, whatever happens, don’t panic. This place doesn’t look familiar, but I really hope I don’t regret playing with this, anyway. If I’m not dead, it could be – agggh, never mind. No consequence could be as bad as this.

This sucks.

Hey?
Is anyone out there?

I thought I was --

-- Whoa, what was – that – wh - -

--- Okay, I’m panicking. Heeey, anyone?! This really isn’t funny!

Character: Mary Magdalene
Series: Chrono Crusade
Timeline: After the series has ended. Manga-verse.
Wiki Us a Bio/History: Wiki fails, but there’s a bit about her in Chrono’s page.
Elaborate, if necessary: Mary Magdalene was born with the power of “sight”; she sees things that have happened, are happening, will happen. The one vision that pertains to her is that of the demon Chrono, who, she suspects, will be the one to kill her. Resigned to her fate, she decided that she will at least get to know her killer, and befriends him as he and his cohorts search for the head of Pandaemonium.

She’s very kind and often a bit playful, but inside she feels drowned in all of the horrific things she sees. As she puts it, “It’s like there’s no room left for the real me anymore.”

She seems to be able to sense astral energy, as she helps to locate Pandaemonium, has empathetic abilities, and likes to sew.

What are they bringing to Nuadoria?: ...Nothin’ XD;; Just, you know. Clothes 8D; Not that she doesn’t have Pandaemonium within her anymore, as fun as that would be.

Third-Person Sample: It was getting hard to keep her eyes open; yet to close them was to see Pandaemonium.

Her constants were the rhythm of the horse’s hooves underneath and the smell of Chrono, the warmth of his back. She focused on those, clung to them, and she would make it another day.

They’d agreed on the convent. It was the only place they could go where she might be able to be saved. They could exorcise Pandaemonium’s memories from her....

And, probably, sever the contract between her and Chrono.

And then –

“We won’t make it to the next town,” he said, apologetically, over his shoulder. She nodded, surprised at how heavy her head was, and he helped her down.

They set up camp – or rather he did; he refused to let her help, claiming that she was too sick, and she had indeed gotten too sick to protest. There was little to do, in any case; it was warm enough not to put out the tent (they kept it packed away whenever possible, as she enjoyed looking at the stars) and there was a stream close by. He set her up with her sewing and promised to be right back, scrambling off with the bucket.

Her hands moved, automatically, to mend his shawl. How many times had she done this? Living with the Sinners for two months...on the road with Chrono for perhaps slightly less...she had no idea how he kept ripping it, but he did, and she was there to fix it.

It was a comforting repetition for her. Had she been born a normal woman, she might have become a mother or a nurse; being able to care of someone, even in her weakened state, was nice -

He was suddenly leaping towards her as though to crash into her. She gasped in alarm; he teetered precariously on his feet, and looked surprised to see her.

They looked at each other in shock.

...

There was nothing wrong.

He huffed a bit and she tittered, the laugh of someone expecting a ghost to jump out of the closet and finding only old stockings and blankets. After a moment, he joined in.

There was nothing wrong.

The shift of grass tread lightly upon and the noise of wind in wings. Chrono’s eyes widened and she knew –

Aion.

First-Person Sample:

....

oh.

...my.

Well, I can’t say this is what I was expecting...!

Um, hello? Is this a telephone...? It doesn’t really look...

[Nervous laughter.]

Oh, I’m babbling...aha...ah...

Is there anyone out there listening? I’m afraid I’ve gotten lost!

Character: Aerith Gainsborough
Series: Final Fantasy 7
Timeline: After Advent Children, Crisis Core, all that good stuff
Wiki Us a Bio/History: ALL HAIL WIKIPEDIA
Elaborate, if necessary: Introduced as the only Flower Girl living in the slums, until she runs into Cloud, Aerith is way more than meets the eye. Ifalna was Aerith's biological mother, and the last remaining pure Ancient, or Cetra. From a tragic love story, before Ifalna died she entrusted Aerith to Elmyra Gainsborough, a kind woman who had attempted to help them. She also passed on a sphere of white materia to her daughter, who from then on always wore it in her hair ribbon.
People think of Arith often as a naive optimist, but really Aerith is just an optimist who pulls a somewhat naive act.It leaves her with a sweetly mysterious atmosphere. Aerith clearly is connected in a way to the earth, and for that has extensive knowledge of plants and flowers. It wouldn't be a surprise if there were flowers growing somewhere if Aerith is around. She has become the Maiden who Travels the Earth, and travels the lifestream keeping an eye on her friends; even as much to help Cloud as shown in Advent Children.
Always trying to get a smile out of the gloomy, a perky edge, Aerith still manages to surprise those around her, Aeris is a bright spot in the middle of a dark and dreary town.

What are they bringing to Nuadoria?: Her staff that she fights with.

Third-Person Sample: Where was she? Aerith thought she was dead, but even after being able to travel the Lifestream, this wasn't what she last remembered doing. This wasn't her church she was used to. But it was black. Oh, her eyes were closed.. It felt dead, and damp in here. Had she been here before?
When Aerith finally opened her eyes, rubbed them from the blurriness, and looked around, she couldn't help but gasp. Yes. This wasn't her church. It was a dock, with a sea that streatched as far as her eyes could see. The dock was dirty and old, that much seh could tell. But Aerith was used to things being in the state, it was much like the slums. What was surprising her the most is how she even got here. "Hmmm." Aerith pinched her arm and let out a tiny "Ow!" Yes, very alive. Yes, surprising. But how? She remained sitting on her legs, upon that wooden dock, and looking around the worn out city that lay behind her. The young woman frowned. This couldn't be good at all, not after all the other journey's she had been going on. Alright, it was nothing she couldn't deal with, but Aerith wanted to know where she was first.

One, two-- up she got, with a sigh and daintly dusted off her long dress. Why bother, she was bound to get dirty here anyway, right? "Hello?" Aerith called out. But like she expected there was no answer. Aerith didn't have to ask how there could be no one else here, she was used to such things from where she came from.

Waiting.

"Heeelllloo?" she called through cupped hands over her mouth. Still nothing. As expected. But as Aerith was about tset out walking from the dock, she kciked something, and jumping back looked down. Her staff! She hadn't expected that to be here with her! It brought an imediate smile to her face. Aerith picked up the staff off the dock, and now felt more confident and ready to set out and see what this was all about.

First-Person Sample: I haven't been here before. I know I haven't, not even traveling the Lifestreams. I don't know why I think that, this isn't even the Forgotten City, I'm sure of that! As much as it also looks like it's been forgotten, I know I'm not in a place I'm familiar with. Is anyone else here? ... Cloud? Tifa? ...

...Zack?

Oh well. At least here you can see the sky, even if it's more gray than a stone. I wonder why I'm back in the physical too. At least I have my staff back with me incase anything is to happen (although I'd like to see some flowers here.) So many questions, sorry!
So um, is there a boy here named Cloud? He has big blonde hair. And, um, Zack? He has spikey black hair, and beautiful blue glowing eyes.

Character: Roxas
Series: Kingdom Hearts
Timeline: Post KHII
Wiki Us a Bio/History: Here!
Elaborate, if necessary: There probably isn't much more to add to that, but I'll try anyway!

More history: Roxas is a Nobody, born in Hollow Bastion when Sora stabbed his heart with the dark keyblade to free Kairi's heart from within himself. The first place he woke up in was Twilight Town, and he was immediately found by Xemnas and offered a place within the Organization. He accepted, and soon became its thirteenth and final member - the Key of Destiny, so to speak.

While within the Organization, he met and befriended the eighth member, Axel. It didn't take them long to become good friends, and they ended up doing a majority of their missions together, such as both aiding in Maleficent's eventual revival.

Eventually, though, Roxas longed for answers - and no one was willing to give him any. So he left Axel and the Organization behind to go and find his Other, Sora, and turned traitor to them all - turned his back and wasn't prepared to go back. However, on his way out of the city through Memory's Skyscraper, he was apprehended by Riku- who used the darkness within him to summon Ansem and defeat Roxas. Knocked unconscious, he was dragged by Xehanort!Riku and DiZ back to the basement in the real Twilight Town.. and they wiped his memories and placed him in the simulation in order to keep him safe from the Organization until they were completely ready to restore Sora's memories, which had been lost in Castle Oblivion the year before.

In the simulation, Roxas befriends three children - Hayner, Pence, and Olette - and gets the chance to live a normal yet fake life that he missed the chance to before. However, this peace doesn't last very long, and soon the town is invaded by Dusks who are looking for him. Their 'liege', the Organization's number XIII. He doesn't have any memories of these people or of Axel, who eventually shows up and tries to convince him to come back with him. Roxas refuses, but eventually DiZ's pull is too hard to resist, and Sora's memories have mostly been returned to him.

After that, Roxas doesn't have much of a choice but to join with Sora, and he fades from existence.

The last time he gets to see Axel is on top of the Twilight Town clock tower, and they share a final block of sea-salt ice cream together before fading for the last time.

personality: Roxas may be Sora's Nobody, but personality wise, he couldn't possibly be more different. Along with the rest of the Organization, he's incredibly good at faking his emotions; unlike them, he doesn't have any memories of his past life (being Sora). He's quite calm and collected and serious, but is incredibly protective of his friends, and won't hesitate to do anything for them. Hanging out with Hayner, Pence, Olette and Axel (though not altogether!) are his favourite things to do, preferably with the presence of sea-salt ice cream. He's also curious to a fault, and will go to any end to get the answers that he wants, even if those means are drastic (such as leaving the Organization).

What are they bringing to Nuadoria?: Two keyblades- Oathkeeper and Oblivion. That's about it!

Third-Person Sample: The game of Struggle was Roxas's passion, and it had been for as long as he could remember. It was something he could be competitive in, something him and Hayner could get involved with together and have a complete ball with, something the four of them could split the prize of and enjoy together. And yet today, staring at the Struggle posters splashed up all over the walls and windows of Twilight Town's shops and stalls made Roxas feel incredibly sick to his stomach.

He had forgotten about his promise to Hayner. He had let his best friend down.

Sighing in frustration, Roxas rubbed at his eyes tiredly. This really hadn't been a good week. Whether it was the stress of the summer vacation finally winding to a close, the huge stack of homework they had yet to complete, or something else entirely... he wasn't sure. None of them were. But somehow, everything had gone to hell and back. First, photos all over the town went missing, and the four of them got the blame. Then the weird girl showed up in his room, and he was told to use the 'Keyblade'. Then there were all the weird white creatures around the place trying to attack him...

And now this.

"Hayner... I'll be at the tournament. I promised, right? I'm not gonna let you guys down again!"

Shouldering his bag, Roxas started heading back to the Usual Spot, wondering if Pence or Olette would be around. He still didn't think he could face Hayner just yet, but maybe the three of them would soften up with a little bit of ice cream.

Sure, the past few days had been weird... but the blond was prepared to make the most of the rest of his summer vacation, no matter what happened.

A pity he never got the chance to follow through on that.

First-Person Sample: ... hey, is anyone there? Hayner? Pence? Olette? Sora? This isn't-

What is this thing, anyway? And where is this place? It definitely isn't Twilight Town, or the World That Never Was.

If this is some sort of dream, then now would be an awesome time to wake up. I shouldn't even be separate from Sora. This shouldn't be happening.

Character: Asano Keigo
Series: BLEACH
Timeline: Chapter 240
Wiki Us a Bio/History: Wiki page, scroll down to find Keigo's section.
Elaborate, if necessary:

POWERS: Keigo pales in comparison to Shinigami in the powers department, but what little abilities he does have are definitely not average for a human. He is able to see and communicate with things that can be labeled "supernatural," such as ghosts and spirits, as well as Shinigami, Hollows and Arrancar alike. Since the ability is particularly fresh for Keigo, however, sometimes he cannot tell the difference between a ghost and a human. It wouldn't be far-fetched to say that Keigo would attempt to talk to a ghost assuming that it was a living person and he probably wouldn't get that the ghost wasn't living until it did something to prove otherwise ( i.e.: showing up with its death wounds, floating around, walking through solid objects, etc. ). Other than that, Keigo's spiritual awareness seems to have a very slight effect on his ability to react, an example being when Keigo managed to block Matsumoto's kick to his face. It's nothing to really clamor about, but it lies as proof that Keigo's getting somewhat stronger in this field.

SKILLS: Keigo is very intelligent, even if his lazy and careless personality seems to negate that. He is able to grasp concepts easily and rarely needs a second explanation, making him a fast learner. He also has a handle on the English language, but with the built-in translators that the journal systems have, that doesn't seem to matter here, unless he was to be speaking with someone in person, I'm assuming.

APPLICATION FOR ASANO KEIGO [2]

2008-06-10 09:57 pm UTC (link)
HISTORY: Having lived his life as an average child, growing up in the suburb of Narukishi, Asano Keigo seemed to be destined to continue on in such a fashion. Despite being fairly intelligent and kind-hearted, Keigo was really nothing more than a lazy slacker, as far as high school rankings were concerned. He was also very lacking in the friends department, having only one to speak of in Kojima Mizuiro. It wasn't until he met Kurosaki Ichigo and Sado "Chad" Yasutora did things really start looking up for him. Or down, depending on one's perspective. Being rescued by a group of punks by Ichigo, Keigo and Mizuiro, warmed up to them quickly, becoming fast friends, hanging around together whenever they could.

Things went on like this for a while, and all the while, Keigo was blissfully unaware of Ichigo's latent ability to see ghosts, and probably for the better. He didn't understand why Ichigo was suddenly playing hooky from school, unknowing of his double-life as a Shinigami or God of Death, and he chalked it up to Ichigo's punkish nature. Before long, however, he took notice to Ichigo's extended absences, as well as the absences of Chad and his other peers, Inoue Orihime, Ishida Uryu, and Kuchiki Rukia. A long and lonely summer later, Keigo was growing increasingly more suspicious.

With the sudden arrival of several unfamiliar students in his class, such as Madarame Ikkaku, Ayasegawa Yumichika, Abarai Renji, Matsumoto Rangiku and Hitsugaya Toshiro, who all seemed to know Ichigo, Keigo felt even more isolated than he had before. Even greater still when Ichigo didn't seem at all interested in explaining a damn thing to him. But, again, Keigo would chalk it up to Ichigo's nature. But, all the while, Keigo started noticing things.

Things that weren't there before. Things like monsters flying through the sky that no one seemed to notice but him. Things like men dressed in strange outfits, killing said monsters. For all his time apart from Ichigo, the time he had spent with him was enough to awaken latent spiritual awareness in Keigo and now he shared a part of what Ichigo had. But, he simply thought that what he was seeing was either not really there or props for a movie shoot.

When the outbreak of Arrancar befell Karakura one night, and Grimmjow Jaggerjack with his crew of underlings sought out to kill any human who held a high-level of spiritual ability, Keigo had been on an errand from his older sister, unaware. Hearing oncoming explosions, Keigo wondered if what he was seeing was actually real and not a delusion or a prop. He recieved a rude awakening to reality when one of Grimmjow's allies crashed onto the scene, fighting Ikkaku and throwing him nearly on top of Keigo in the process.

Ikkaku made Keigo a deal at that point. In exchange for his protection, Keigo would give he and Yumichika a place to stay. Unable to refuse out of fear for his life, Keigo agreed. Staying by Yumichika's side during the rest of the fight, he overheard the man making a call to several other shinigami in the area. Among the names he recognized, such as Matsumoto, the name "Kurosaki Ichigo" passed his lips. Keigo kept quiet.

After the fight, Keigo helped drag a battered Ikkaku back to his house, where he was given a warm welcome by his sister, who adored Ikkaku's shaved head. That was that; they were welcome to stay at their place, regardless of if their parents agreed to it or not.

Wiki Us a Bio/History: Wikipedia is your friend~

Elaborate, if necessary:
Years ago in feudal Japan when the land of the samurai was taken over by aliens called the Amanto, the Japanese government retaliated by waging war on the invaders, and that was where Gintoki first came in. Schooled together with Katsura Koutarou and Takasugi Shinsuke in the ways of the sword and the samurai by Shoyou-sensei when they were children, the three took up their swords and fought with the group of samurai known as the Joui faction for Japan's freedom. Many lives were lost, both by human and Amanto counts, a large portion of which was the responsibility of our hero in question, who was known as the White Devil for his silver hair, the white coat he always wore, as well as his ruthlessness and skill on the battlefield. As we all know how it went, though, Japan lost the war eventually and surrendered on the Amanto's terms; swords and samurai were outlawed, and members of the Joui became wanted men.

Since nothing much else is known about Gintoki's past, it's a timeskip to at least 10 years in the future, where advanced technology is now commonplace and the general population have come to terms with the Amanto presence in their everyday lives. Gintoki had lain down his sword, sworn never to use it to kill again, and instead started calling himself a freelancer, taking any and all jobs as long as it brought in the money, so he could afford his weekly Shonen JUMP (always), strawberry milk (sometimes) and attempt to pay his rent (rarely), together with Shinpachi and Kagura.

On the surface, Gintoki is laidback, mostly unmotivated and exceedingly lazy with just about everything, even jobs, unless you're talking about heading down to the convenience store to buy JUMP on Sundays. Not at all what you'd expect a main character to be, he's rude, picks his nose on a regular basis, and frequently runs from fights just so he can be home in time to catch his favorite soap opera. Despite his initial behavior, Gintoki more often than not would find himself heading off to save yet another random acquaintance who is, for example, too annoyingly stubborn for their own good and in the process miss the 4-hour finale of that 200-episode long soap he'd been religiously following. When push comes to shove, shonen heroes will be shonen heroes.

What are they bringing to Nuadoria?: His wooden sword, Touyako, and the just one issue of Shonen JUMP. Also naturally permed hair, ridiculous fanboying tendencies, a tsundere-type personality and a serious lack of money. Last but not least, diabeetus.

Character: Jennifer (reserved).
Series: Rule of Rose.
Timeline: Around the 5:30 mark. If you want to get a better idea about her canon up to this point, Rain1024 has posted the full game, cutscenes included, into their play list for your perusal~.
Wiki Us a Bio/History: Her bio -- the layout of the site is painful to look at, but it's the most accurate and in-depth thing I could find. OTL
Elaborate, if necessary: Jennifer is a young woman of what appears to be middle-class status in 1930s England whose flaws seem to outweigh her virtues: she's meek, yielding and often allows herself to be flagrantly misused by others. However, she is not your typical damsel-in-distress and takes a very active part in her own rescue from the Aristocrat Club, a twisted hierarchy of malicious youngsters who holds Jennifer captive and forces her to play their game under threat of death.

She may be an unwilling participant, gathering items for the monthly offering as demanded of her, but she is also piecing together the clues that will explain the hows and whys of her place in the club which serves to show the sort of misery she'd put herself through if it ensured her freedom. Her constitution may not be strong when it comes to rats and imps, but she must draw that courage from someplace deeper.

Her memory of childhood is very, very muddled and she can't recall it no matter how hard she tries. As a result, she suffers from a mild identity crisis where she shies away from voicing her opinions (or speaking up much at all) and is generally unsure of herself, her standing with others and hesitant to try new things for fear of failure, or worse.

Brown, her dog, is Jennifer's closest companion and very skilled at tracking things down by scent alone provided they aren't behind a locked door or otherwise impossible to get to.
What are they bringing to Nuadoria?: Paring knife, several tattered, home-made fairytale books and Brown, a grown Golden Labrador.

Third-Person Sample: The door of the filth room opened not into Sector 8 of the airship near the large, whirring turbines, but into a cramped and dirty alley. Brown trotted forth without so much as a backwards glance to investigate a pile of garbage, tail aloft. Jennifer was more reluctant to venture outside, clutching her paring knife close to her chest. This wasn't right. This definitely wasn't right. Even from the windows she could gauge that they were miles and miles up in the air, cruising along over England's black moors.

Why, then, was she out on land, in the middle of a city? The airship may have touched down, but that certainly didn't explain why the filth room deposited her into this alley. Was this a test of her allegiance to the Aristocrat Club? This surely looked like a means of escape for good, but if they caught up to her punishment would be swift and sure. Regardless, the urge to run prickled her feet.

Jennifer flinched as a breeze lanced through the tight space and Brown dug his head further into the rubbish, excitedly sniffing through the debris. Jennifer took a few steps forward, stretching out a hand to snag his collar when the door slammed shut in her wake. She twirled on her heel and desperately tugged at the knob. It scarcely turned an inch. The young woman then took to banging on the door with an open palm, soon feeling a little foolish at doing so. She and Brown were the only occupants of the filth room; no one was going to answer, no one was going to let them back in.

Nervously toying with her rose broach, Jennifer stepped backward and appraised the door. It was wooden and age-warped, nothing like the sliding hatch she was familiar with, and not at all connected to the airship she had been cloistered in. Perhaps the children had a change of heart and decided to let her go. Perhaps it really was just a game that they had tired of as quickly as they thought it up.

Or maybe this was another callous amusement for them. Setting the white mouse loose in a maze of bricks and cement. They were probably gathered around the observation windows on deck, flattening their faces to the glass. Jennifer screwed her eyes upward and searched the sky for any sign of the airship and the hateful smiles that lurked within. However, all she could see were puffs of silver clouds with not so much as a flock of birds perforating them.

She gasped when Brown nuzzled her hand, whining sympathetically. The young woman knelt to pet him, a rare smile alighting her face when a thought occured to her. Withdrawing her wrinkled, sloppily twined copy of "The Clover Field", Jennifer held it under the dog's nose, hoping that the scent could be traced back to the airship, the orphanage or, at least, some place that she could actually recognize.

Once he had his fill, the Labrador once again took off toward the garbage he had been all but frolicking through before.

"Brown," she softly reprimanded, hauling him back by his leather collar. He complied and lifted his head from the collection of carelessly discarded bags, a small object in his teeth. He dropped it into Jennifer's waiting hands and she squinted curiously at it. It was a black device and matching earbud, the likes of which she had never seen before. She wondered if it belonged to a larger piece of machinery, as nothing so tiny could possibly perform on its own.

"Hello, Jennifer." The greeting was a rolling marquee across the screen and she nearly dropped it in surprise.

First-Person Sample:

[accidental voice post]

[thoughtful hums as Jennifer studies the device; Brown barks]

Shh, quiet.

I wonder. Hm. What could this be?

[again, the dog barks, more urgently this time]

Oh? You think you know? Here.

[the overmodulated sound of wet snuffling as he picks up the trinket's scent before the sound of his receding paws on pavement can be heard; Jennifer takes off after him]

Brown! Stay! Please, stay!

Character: James Sunderland
Series: Silent Hill 2
Timeline: Right after finding the video tape, towards the end of the game.
Wiki Us a Bio/History: Wiki.

Elaborate, if necessary: Most of the time, James is quiet, somewhat socially awkward (especially around females), and always has a bit of sadness in his eyes. He spends a lot of time thinking, and talks to himself fairly often. Making friends and becoming close to people is difficult, but not impossible, as he does tend to be kind, or at least tries to be. Although not very outgoing, he will go out of his way to help someone in trouble.
But to put it simply, James has a dark side. Underneath his shy and quiet shell is a man whose built up anger, grief, and sexual repression from his wife’s three-year long illness can cause him to lose control. Normally he will avoid people when this side of him is present, however, if someone finds him, even someone he has become close with, he could snap or yell at them, or become violent. Both his anger and sexual attraction towards women increases, as well.
What are they bringing to Nuadoria?: Handgun and bullets, steel pipe, his broken radio, a picture of Mary, and the letter he got from her that originally beckoned him to Silent Hill.

Third-Person Sample:
James…
The voice was barely audible through the layers of static. James quickly pulled the radio out of his pocket, waiting to hear that voice again. The buzzing grew louder as he glared at it, but no other noises came. He let out an angry sigh and slammed the device against the chair he sat in.
And then the sirens came again.
Those dreaded sirens. His ears began to ring as he became dizzy and fell to the floor as he had done time and time again. The wallpaper began to peel away, but this time, the walls did too. He stared at the shaking ground and tried to maintain consciousness. As he did, it vanished, and he was falling. Faster and faster, as the walls around him faded into nothing. He could feel himself becoming colder and colder…or was it hotter? He was burning, and then…he was nothing.

James awoke to complete silence. Cool pavement pressed into the side of his face. He began to lift himself up, but his strength had vanished. Looking around, an unfamiliar town just about to reach sunrise seemed to stare back at him. It was dark. Not the same dark that he was used to, the rust-covered hell he had known in Silent Hill, but a…friendly dark? No, that was reaching a bit. If it was evil, it was a different kind of evil. A subtle evil.
The perfectly aligned buildings cast identical shadows down the sidewalk. It was impossible to make out what any of them looked like, as the glow cast by the streetlights barely reached to the front wall.
James sighed, and began to lift himself up again. He noticed a small device lying next to his foot, picked it up, and cautiously put the headset on.
No static. No Mary’s voice either.

First-Person Sample:
This…this isn’t Silent Hill.

What is this place?

Mary…oh god, Mary. What have I done? No…please…it was all a dream. This is still a dream. This can’t be happening.
No. It was all real. She’s gone because of me. And this is how I have to pay.

Also, the html sort of failed up there.

Character: Lavi
Series: d.Gray-man
Timeline: After Lavi falls from the Arc
Wiki Us a Bio/History: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Black_Order_members#Lavi is probably a good reference for his character.
Elaborate, if necessary: Lavi has come to a definite crossroads in his relationships with other people at this point in the story. Forever distancing himself as a Bookman who watches and records history, he has started to open up to those he calls friends and comrades. It's a tricky situation for the teen to be in as the question in his mind of who he is has been raised. There is his Bookman side and the personality that he has adopted as "Lavi". The lines have been blurred between the two.

Generally speaking, Lavi is bright and outgoing, though there is a darker side to him that he works to push back. It's one thing to become closer to other people, a completely different thing to let those people in closer to him.
What are they bringing to Nuadoria?: During his fall from the Arc, Lavi had very little with him. His weapon, his shape-shifting hammer, had shattered when attempting to use it to be saved during the fall. He does have the clothes he was wearing, including earrings, scarf, and eyepatch.

Lavi application, part deux

2008-06-14 09:11 pm UTC (link)
Third-Person Sample: The last moment of any clarity was the sight of Allen's face as he leaned down to grasp the extended handle of his hammer, and then the sight of it shattering into a million sparks of light, leaving him to grasp onto nothingness. He felt a sudden pang of despair when the light above him dissolved into darkness, leaving him with the sole sensation of falling. The difference between up and down deteriorated, leaving him in a state of flux where it was hard to grasp onto reality. His very soul felt on fire, a burning sensation that left it hard to think, drawing him down onto the few basic senses he had left, but even those were fading as well.

I'm dying, he thought once to himself. The fall continued on, making time meaningless, that despair he had felt initially compounding time and time again upon itself. The urge to simply give in was there, and had he felt any other option to that one, he might have fought. But the darkness was too complete, the ripping sensations he felt so close to his heart and soul too harsh to ignore. Everything ceased to matter in an instant, the various names he had held, the histories, the memories, the friends, and if he could have cried out, he would have. But instead there was only silence, piercing him through and shattering his world as he knew it.

There was grass at his back, tickling his palms and earlobes. It wasn't the way he thought it should have been, coming from that nothingness to something that was definitely real. He pushed himself to a sitting position slowly, his head throbbing, leaving a ringing sensation in his ears that made the sounds of the world, varied as they were, a distant muffled noise. He could remember the Arc, the fight with Rhode, the sounds of Lenalee's cries, the anguish on Allen's face, and distantly he could recognise that this world and the one he left behind were not cut from the same fabric.

He found his feet beneath him a moment later, the ringing in his ears leaving him off-balanced as he looked around, spinning a slow circle.

Where the hell was he?

First-Person Sample: I've travelled all over Europe, even out to Asia. I've seen a lot of places, met a lot of people, seen a lot of history in the world. I've seen a lot of things. This? I've never seen before.

It's been abandoned. By who or what, it's impossible to tell. I feel like I ought to be writing all of this down, but who would I tell it to? I haven't seen anyone yet, so I don't even know if anyone's out here. I don't think the idea of bein' alone has ever been quite so frightenin' to me.

From the Arc to... wherever this is.

I've gotta write this down. Someone has to record the stories here, even if no one's around to read 'em. I'm a Bookman after all. S'what we do.

As a note, I had this character reserved. Just wanted to make sure to state that.

Instant Messenger: rookie eyes.

Character: Claire Redfield (reserved).
Series: Resident Evil.
Timeline: Post-RE2, scenario A.
Wiki Us a Bio/History: Roughly the first two paragraphs of her history.
Elaborate, if necessary: Claire, a cycle-straddling college student, is very focused for someone her age. Though that focus isn't aimed at academics or school sports, it's something just as important, if not moreso: the whereabouts and safety of her old brother, Chris.

She arrives in Raccoon City late one evening in hot pursuit of him only to find herself up to her ears in the walking dead. Her first harrowing encounter takes place in a greasy spoon where one of the proprietors is found gumming at the torso of a corpse. She may be frightened, but Claire thinks well enough on her feet to exhaust all possible means of escape until she meets Leon Kennedy, a rookie cop who offers her an escort to the police station as well as a handgun. In the manner that she holds the weapon, one can glean that she's had experience with firearms in the past, no doubt thanks to Chris who was a member of a special ops team called S.T.A.R.S.

Eventually, Leon and Claire are separated and must find alternative routes to the station and an exit out of Raccoon City entirely. During her journey through the labyrinthine station house, Claire meets Sherry Birkin, a girl far too young to be wandering in such a dangerous place on her own. Right away, Claire assumes the protective guardian role over Sherry and faces many large and grotesque monsters in order to keep her out of harm's way. Those feelings only intensify when Claire learns that Sherry's father, the mutated William Birkin, has implanted embryos in his daughter that will either kill the child or turn her into a similar unspeakable creature.

Claire scours each and every corridor of the Umbrella Laboratories until she finds the G-virus vaccine that will cure Sherry, all while narrowly avoiding the lab's automated, and very fatal, shut-down protocol. She escapes with the girl and Leon on a train. However, they all know that though the lab has been destroyed, Umbrella is far from done for.

As we can see from the events of the game, Claire is selfless, no-nonsense, capable and quick-witted. Regardless of whether these are all traits she picked up from Chris or an innate survival instinct, it's likely she could handle herself in just about any situation.

What are they bringing to Nuadoria?: A loaded handgun, a spare case of bullets to go with it, her ever-present knife strapped to her chest, the walkie-talkie Leon loaned her and a pocket road map.

Third-Person Sample: Raccoon City was strangely empty when Claire pulled up, although it was nearing two in the morning; only rabid insomniacs and late-night television enthusiasts would be up at this hour. As a precaution, she killed her engine and decided to take the trek on foot. There was an all-night diner nearby, lit from within, but similarly empty. The buzzing "OPEN" sign, however, was enough of an indication that there at least had to be a cook or a waitress on duty to help her. Someone had to know what was going on with the S.T.A.R.S. team, or at least point her in the direction of the police station that served as their headquarters.

"I'm finally here," she declared to no one after removing her helmet.

A chilly September breeze nipping at her heels, Claire hastily approached the diner. "EMMY'S", it proudly stated across the awning in a swooping, friendly font. She pushed the door open and ducked her head inside, purveying the area for any sign of life she might've missed from the street. Nothing except for the half-eaten plates of burgers and upended drinking glasses littering almost every booth.

'Nice place,' she thought wryly, but nonetheless walked in.

"Hello? Is anyone here?"

Claire wandered along the thoroughfare of the restaurant, peering behind the counter where the waitress should have been standing, honoring her post, and slipped once or twice through a puddle of soda.

Where was everyone? Raccoon City may not have been party central, but there had to be at least a handful of other people around that she could speak with. At this point anyone would do, even if they were mute and had to draw her a map using ketchup packets and a napkin. Her one and only goal was to find her brother. And to find him, she'd have to find the police station. It was a weak lead, and there was no real certainty that he'd be there, but it was better than nothing.

Claire halted near the end of the long island counter as a curious sound reached her ears. It was a wet, lip-smacking, nauseating sound of someone eating greedily. Maybe a stray animal had gotten into the meat locker and pulled a few frozen patties into the main dining area where it was warmer. Bracing herself for disappointment, Claire moved in further to investigate.

What she saw was damn near unfathomable.

A man, thin, pallid and balding, was hunched over a corpse, his face buried in the torso. At the shuffle of her booted footsteps, he drew his head back and regarded her with a milk-white stare, a striking contrast to the blood caked on his mouth, purplish strips of intestines caught between his teeth. He opened his maw wide, a death rattle emanating from the back of his putrid throat. Though he seemed blinded, Claire felt in her gut that he was already scoping her out as his next meal.

Tracking down Chris was going to be much harder than she thought.

First-Person Sample: [accidental voice post]

[the rustle of soft paper being unfolded followed by a moment of thoughtful silence]

Huh, that's weird. This place isn't anywhere on the map. Looks like I took a wrong turn.

[sigh]

Maybe things will go right one of these days.

...It's so quiet out here. Where did everybody go?

[a barely audible gasp]

Oh, no. Could that mean...? Did it spread that fast?

[muffled fumbling as she searches for her walkie talkie]

Leon! Leon!! Are you still out there? Can you hear me? I, I think things are worse than we thought!

Character: Dick Gumshoe
Series: Phoenix Wright
Timeline: The end of PW3, the day after the final case closes.
Wiki Us a Bio/History: There's not too much information on Gumshoe, but here's what I could dig up:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenix_Wright_(character)#Dick_Gumshoe - Wiki bio
http://www.court-records.net/chara-gumshoe.htm - Court Records bio
http://aceattorney.wikia.com/wiki/Gumshoe - AA Wiki bio
Elaborate, if necessary: As a homicide detective, Gumshoe means well. Although he is usually on the side of the prosecutors, when friends of his are in danger (as they often are in the games), he does all that he can to help them, on either side of the courtroom. Unfortunately for him, this means that he's a frequent victim of salary cuts, further reducing his already poor quality of living. He lives in a shabby apartment in a bad part of town, surviving as best as he can on hot dog weenies and instant noodles. Nevertheless, Gumshoe continues his work as a detective, fueled by a passion for police work as strong as that of the precinct's mascot, the Blue Badger.

Gumshoe isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the box, evidenced by his name's pun in the Japanese version of the game. He's often so clueless it's a wonder he's lasted so long as a detective, but he somehow is always there to provide the player with as much information about the case as he can. He seems to manage to keep his job by at least trying, even going so far as getting himself involved in a traffic accident in the process of getting some last-minute evidence for a case. Dumb as a box of rocks or not, Gumshoe is a cheerful, happy-go-lucky sort of guy, the kind of person that, in the end, you'd want on your side. If you don't mind him telling you some useless story about his childhood when you think you're getting important case info.

Despite his love for his job, Gumshoe's loyalty lies most strongly with the people he cares for. This is mostly obvious with prosecutor Miles Edgeworth, who Gumshoe admires to the point of hero-worship.
What are they bringing to Nuadoria?: A cell-phone, a standard-issue police handgun

Dick Gumshoe application 2/3

Third-Person Sample: The key stuck in the lock. Hardly surprising, since the key had stuck in the lock every day since Gumshoe had entered the apartment since first renting it. Hell, the key had stuck in the lock when the super first showed him the place. The cracks in the walls, the faded, chipped paint, the broken window repaired with yellowed duct tape; all of that was there as well. It didn't really matter though. On his salary, Gumshoe couldn't afford to be picky. Back then, it had been, after all, an upgrade from his last place, a celebration of his promotion from police officer to homicide detective. Six years later, he didn't think he'd be in a position for a new apartment any time soon.

He braced his shoulder against the door and pushed hard. It popped open, but the door frame had been ripped where the bolt tore through it. The door wouldn't close now, much less lock. "Well," Gumshoe muttered to himself, grinning, his hand curled around the back of his neck, "Good thing I can't afford anything worth stealing."

Gumshoe's apartment was smaller than most people's closets. Still, he had managed to make it as homey as possible. A potted plant here and there to spruce things up, though he could never remember to water them and the single tiny window didn't provide enough light to keep them alive. And candles, lots of candles; buying them and the matches was much, much cheaper than keeping the lights on paying the electricity bill. That was a month's worth of instant noodles, after all. And one wall he had devoted to documenting his life; the certificates he'd earned from graduating at the police academy and passing the detective exam, photos of his friends; a snapshot of him and Edgeworth, the latter looking particularly displeased at having Gumshoe's arm around his shoulders, a strip of frames of him and Maggey, from one of those photo booths at the boardwalk, and a big group photo with everyone all crammed in together. Phoenix, Maya, Pearly, Edgeworth, Larry, everyone. All smiling, despite or in spite of everything that they had all been through, every one of them. And in his hand, Gumshoe had another piece to add to the wall. He pinned up one of the many sketches Larry had scribbled that night at Tres Bien. The guy was surprisingly good, though Gumshoe figured he didn't really have a place to talk considering his skill in his own choice of career.

Gumshoe stood for a moment, staring up at the full wall, smiling to himself. Even if he was barely making minimum wage, even if he was all out of instant ramen and the dinner had completely cleaned out what money he had, he was lucky to have so many amazing people in his life.

It would have been nice to be lucky enough to have a couch or a bed, too, but his luck had to run out somewhere. He took off his long green trenchcoat and balled it up into a pillow, positioning it with care at the head of his cot. His gun holster he shrugged off and hung on a peg on one end of the cot then sunk down into it, the poor structure giving and creaking under his weight. It would hold, though. It had held for six years, hadn't it? Then again, so had his door. At least, if the cot did break in the middle of the night, he probably wouldn't be late for work. The chief would be so proud of him!

Giddy on the idea and grinning, Gumshoe lay down on his cot, his face nestled into his makeshift-pillow, his fingers loosely curled around his holster hanging off the edge. He was asleep almost immediately, perfectly content with where he was.

Elaborate, if necessary:

History;
Axel is, above all else, a Nobody after his own ends. What is a Nobody, you may ask? A Nobody is the product of someone's heart falling into darkness; at least when that 'someone' has a strong enough heart to last through long enough to form a new person entirely. Which means, of course, Axel wasn't always Axel; not that he ever tells anyone about his ~past~. That's a little too much sentimentality for his liking, really. After all, why have sentimental moments if you can't feel anything~

Although even if he could, it's doubtful he'd do it. Anyway, moving on.

Axel was number eight in the Organization; a group of Nobodies searching for some sort of ~*meaning*~ in their lives, and to open the door to Kingdom Hearts to try and get a hold of their own hearts so they could feel complete in some way or another.

Another five members joined after Axel's arrival; he liked a few of them, but one in particular, well, Axel wouldn't have minded setting on fire and leaving him to burn. Pink hair and flowers never did do a thing for him, so it was only natural that Axel wasn't too big of a fan when it came to Marluxia. He was rather partial to their one female member, though. A blond named Larxene; probably one of the only ones who could tolerate his sarcasm and shoot it back at him without a second thought.

He didn't have any real bonds with anyone, though. And any he might have formed were to further his own means; Axel always had a side plan that got him further ahead in some way. Which was why he tagged along when Larxene, Marluxia, and various other Nobodies from the Organization were sent to Castle Oblivion. Marluxia decided to try and destroy Sora, the main hero of the Kingdom Hearts games, and generally be a shit disturber with Larxene's help, as well as that of a witch named Naminé; another Nobody with the ability to rework a persons entire memory. During this time, Axel worked as somewhat of a double agent and a spy; a constant position he was put in while working with the Organization. In the end, not only was he responsible for the deaths of most of the other Organization members in the castle, but he was also the one to put Sora on the 'right' path to be further manipulated by Naminé later on.

And, of course, Axel remained entirely calm through the ordeal.

Once the entire thing was over, though, Axel relied more heavily on his interaction with Roxas, taking him along on more missions and otherwise befriending him. Axel didn't quite remember the whole situation of having friends and everything that went with it, but he slowly began to learn again. And despite not having a heart; Axel still gave a damn about the kid. He changed over the course of their friendship, little by little. Becoming a little less self-involved and manipulative to everyone, he slowly learned more consideration with people he considered friends and allies.

Even though he didn't have his heart anymore, with Roxas as his friend, it was a lot easier to remember what it was like to have one.

Too soon for Axel's liking, Roxas left the Organization on a journey to find out things from his past that he couldn't remember himself. Insisting that no one would miss him, he left too soon to find out otherwise from Axel.

Unfortunately, because of being the closest to number thirteen, Axel was also the one sent to retrieve him again. To bring him back or kill him were his only two options, despite Axel's opinion on the situation. Tracking him down to a simulated Twilight Town, Axel tried by force and (with words in hopes of sparking his memory of the Organization (all of which had seemingly disappeared)) words to bring him back. Ultimately, he failed, and Roxas ended up merging with his Other; the hero of the story, Sora.

Character: Rebecca Chambers
Series: Resident Evil
Timeline: Post-RE1
Wiki Us a Bio/History:
Wikipedia!
Resident Evil Wiki thing on her.

Elaborate, if necessary: At the age of eighteen, Rebecca became the youngest member of S.T.A.R.S., her expertise in biochemistry and medicine making her an ideal field medic. She was also part of rear security, and thus became skilled with technology and weaponry, though the majority of her strength comes from the fact that she has survived not one, but two tragedies involving zombies and other monsters. Even when faced with bleak odds, Rebecca does not give up until she’s certain there's no way to survive.

Rebecca is a friendly and helpful person, though that helpful streak can border on bossy. She’s still no great leader, but she knows how to work with others and does her best to accomplish any task given to her to the best of her ability. Her skills with medicine make her a great asset, and she takes her job seriously. If anything, Rebecca is good at taking orders--yet she still has a mind of her own and a strong sense of what is right. This is why she was able to work with Billy, a supposed murderer, in order to survive and escape a mass of zombies and mutated creatures. She felt that he was a good person after spending some time with him, and even bent the rules so that he could ultimately escape his sentence. Chris is another person she’s come to look up to--their ordeal in the mansion was yet another thing to draw her close to her teammates, and force her to grow up a little faster.

What are they bringing to Nuadoria?: A handgun, some ammo, some herbs (the healing kind, I assure you :|), and dog tags with Billy Coen’s name on them.

Third-Person Sample:
She didn’t know what was worse--trains infested with zombies or mansions infested with zombies. Rebecca had fallen from the frying pan into the fire, and now it seemed like there had to be something more to that saying because things had somehow just gotten worse. So maybe an eerily quiet city was worse than any zombie-infested train or mansion, and the phrase was now out of the frying pan and into the fire and then into the strange city all alone.

The nightmares never ended.

“Hello?” She called, one hand holding onto her gun and her other hand holding onto the device she had found herself with. Nothing made sense. She had been on a helicopter, escaping from that hellish nightmare of a mansion, absolutely exhausted and letting it sink in that nothing would ever be the same, and then--here. If there were a crash of some sort, she would have remembered it. However, the last time she could recall landing was before she came across Billy Coen.

What she wouldn’t give for him to be around. Chris, too. Or just about anyone to have her back at the moment.

Something hummed somewhere and Rebecca spun around, gun level and finger ready to pull the trigger. “Anyone there?” The words came out as a low whisper because something told her she wouldn’t like what was lurking out of her sight. Training told her to call out for people (Survivors? Maybe not...) but her common sense told her that she would not be as lucky as to run into a kind face--because more often than not, when something made and sound and she couldn‘t see it, it wasn’t something nice.

Rebecca’s hand tightened around the grip of the gun until her knuckles turned white. She had no idea where she was or how she got there, but staying alive was her objective. Drawing a deep breath into her lungs, she slipped the strange device into her pocket and quickened her pace, not quite breaking into a run but moving as quickly as she could to anywhere that looked at least marginally safe.

Character : Ayumu "Osaka" Kasuga.
Series : Azumanga Daioh.
Timeline : Right after the graduation.
Wiki Us a Bio/History :Wiki profile.

Elaborate, if necessary :

Obviously from a family that moves around a lot, Osaka was born in Wakayama, went to elementary school in Kobe, middle school in Osaka, and finally settled down for high school in Tokyo. She and Tomo have been accepted into the same college, thanks to her studying with Chiyo-chan. However, she failed the first college she wanted to get into.

On the overall, Osaka isn't quite there most of the time, tending to wander off into her own dream world and even fall asleep during class from thinking too hard. And the things Osaka thinks about can range from imagining what Chiyo-chan's ponytails are like to seeing visions of a cat that can speak English. However, she has proven that her mind simply runs differently from others, and answers trick questions and riddles with ease. As for Osaka's grades, she is part of the 'three bonkuras' [Tomo, Kagura and Osaka], who get the lowest grades in class and copy off all of their homework. If Chiyo-chan hadn't tutored her during the last year of highschool, she probably wouldn't have gotten into college at all, unlike Tomo, who is smart but also very lazy, and Kagura, who is a star athlete.

As for relationships, Osaka is closest to Chiyo-chan and Tomo, but is also friends with Kagura, Yomi and Sakaki, as well the two homeroom teachers Yukari and Nyamo. She was tutored by Chiyo-chan and studied to get into the same college as Tomo, but Osaka was also helped by Yomi and Sakaki. Out of all the girls, Osaka receives the least attention from Mr. Kimura, despite her attempts to talk to him, probably because she is flat-chested.

What are they bringing to Nuadoria? : Nothing.

Third-Person Sample :

Reaching into her pocket, the female took out the communicator, round brown eyes squinting in an attempt to make sense of her surroundings. The device sputtered out random words, barely heard over the static and completely unintelligible. For a second, every horror movie Osaka had ever seen began playing out in her mind, and sudden fear took over, but was quickly calmed down because apparently even the thought of a sudden movement sent Osaka into such a state of vertigo that is seemed better just not to think at all. The however small still normal part of the girl whimpered, demanding that she was just a Tokyo school girl, and the most danger and excitement she was meant to have was the entrance tests for college.

Outside, colors blurred and blended, going from red to purple to blue to green and all the stages in between, not maneging to decide what exactly it wanted to be. I hope I haven't fallen asleep. Osaka vaguely wondered, feeling her face turn pale. The best she could do was focus on the small, meaningless parts of her life, and hope that one of friends would randomly pop up and save her. Now that she thought about it, she really missed her friends.

Shifting two brown eyes the slightest bit Osaka could swear there was an armored being near her, but it was gone as soon as it came. Almost immediately after a wave of nausea swept over the female, making her drop the communicator and double over, digging her finger into her knees until the knuckles turned white. Then, the dizziness was gone as soon as it came, and Osaka picked up her communicator, which seemed to be in even worse shape. "I wish someone would fix this.." The girl mumbled, more to herself then to the general public.

"I wonder if I can contact someone..."

First-Person Sample :

This place is.. So weird.. Did I fall asleep again? I hope not, because then Yukari-sensei will scream at me for falling asleep again.. Or did I already graduate? And why is everything so dizzy? I don't like roller coasters..

She was purposely infected with the Las Plagas parasite so that she could be used to infiltrate and infect the U.S. Fortunately, Leon S. Kennedy came to the rescue. Ashley followed Leon closely, dependent on him to protect her, although at times she had to venture through danger alone. Despite that constant danger and the grotesque things that they saw, Ashley kept a cool head, and did as she was told without question, complaint, or snapping. (Well, she screamed sometimes when getting hauled off by pseudo-zombies, but really, who wouldn’t?) Together, they were able to escape back to the U.S., parasite-free.

Ashley is an important part of the game; however, we never see much of her normal life and actions outside of running away from pseudo-zombies and shouting for Leon like any good extraneous damsel in distress. As far as I plan to play her, she is a fine arts major in college, although for hobbies she also likes to read and swim. She is more observant than she lets on and listens more than she speaks, and when she does speak, she speaks her mind. Her father may be the president, but she doesn’t involve herself in politics when she can help it. In dire situations she can keep an outwardly cool head better than most, but mostly because she tries to hide whenever she’s scared or ashamed. She is an independent person, but since her kidnapping, she has some emotional dependency on Leon.

What are they bringing to Nuadoria?: Her purse, which besides your usual little purse trinkets contains a cell phone and a handy can of mace.

Third-Person Sample:

The brilliant white of the hospital walls had been a startling, yet blessedly welcome contrast from the grungy setting that she had spent an eternity in, in Spain- She had been told that not even two weeks had passed since she was taken, but it felt much longer than that. She’d spent so much time locked in windowless rooms or unconscious until she couldn’t even tell what time of day it was. Thank god that Leon had come for her. He had been a total stranger, but once everything was said and done, she doubted that anyone else would have been able to get her out of there alive- or with her mind still her own.

Once she had settled back into a safe environment with the luxury of a nice, clean bathroom, however, it didn’t take long for her to want to get back out and see what she had missed. Her classes would be starting back up again soon, and although her family had come to visit her, she still wanted to spend time with them in Washington- and she wanted to see Leon again. He was a patient too, and she hadn’t seen him for days, now. Really, she was fine. The doctors were just being overly cautious because of her dad, she was sure… and, well, because of the parasite. She was still afraid herself sometimes that it might still be there, hiding. She would still wake up screaming in the night with a lingering feeling of writhing in her chest.

But paranoia or no, she was going to go stir crazy before long. Today her purse had finally been returned to her, found at the place of her disappearance. It was a bit dirty, but she couldn’t care less. Her cell phone had been laden with messages, and she spent a better part of the day laughing and crying with friends over the phone, assuring them that she was fine and that she would see them again soon, same as ever. Whether it was this or something else that made the doctors let her go, she was released from the hospital not long after. She had immediately asked for Leon, but it seemed that he had already gone.

It was while she was on her way out the door to the awaiting stretch limo- really, her father liked to be showy sometimes- that something akin to a brick wall hit her, and suddenly she couldn’t see. She screamed, but nothing came out- or it did, but she couldn’t hear it. There was no support from her accompanying security guards when she fell, and although she knew she should have hit something, instead she just continued to fall. Waves of mixing vertigo and subtle nausea made her wonder if she was even in the same place anymore- and with that came the fear, that something had gone wrong, that she had been taken again somehow, or that there really had been eggs left latent in her blood, and she was about to lose herself completely…

She shouted for Leon for all she was worth, even if only echoes of the sound seemed to reach her own ears. Her head was beginning to hurt like hell, but there was only one thought that she could form and cling on to as her lifeline- Leon will save me.

When she awoke, she could see again, if hazily. Wherever she was, it certainly wasn’t the hospital- and certainly not Spain.

First-Person Sample:

If I didn’t know better, I’d ask if this was some kind of sick joke…

If someone’s listening… I just want to know what’s going on, and if I can go home.

And… [hopefully] Leon? Are you there?

Elaborate, if necessary: Weelll...it’s hard to say more about River. XD;; She’s crazy, she’s graceful, she’s innocent and murderous at the same time...

I’ll be taking her from after the movie, where she sorta kinda puts some of the crazy behind her. However, it is my view of the character that there’s still a lot of healing she needs to do – and she is still missing part of her brain, so she’s still pretty wacko.

What are they bringing to Nuadoria?: One of Wash’s dinosaurs. Little plastic stegosaur thing.

Third-Person Sample: A scene played out on the pilot’s dashboard. Dinosaurs, plants, small green soldiers and a hula-dancer stood frozen in an absurd tableau above the controls.

She thought it was a fitting tribute to the man who had sat there before her, and added figures as she found them. Her shipmates were bemused, as they always seemed to be, but when she attempted to explain –

the evolution of funeral tributes to fallen comrades; the process of molding the figurine

They did not understand. They did not understand, but they let it be, and she was content with that.

But, tonight....

Something was not right with it –

She had gotten up at precisely 3:14 in the morning, as was her custom, and settled at the controls to adjust their flight course. They were off course – she could hear Serenity telling her that – drifting across black and pinpoints of white –

But she was becoming dizzy.

Dizzy...

The figurines. They weren’t in the right order. They were hurting her brain and causing her to fall over –

She pried off the angry looking dinosaur and shifted him two inches to the left. Tyrannosaurus rex, the tyrant lizard. Suspected by some to be a scavenger instead of a predator as commonly thought, due in part to –

No.

It still wasn’t right.

She tried the palm tree next. Now she felt lightheaded, and something was burning and filling her nostrils with smoke –

The vocal folds within her larynx vibrated and her tongue and lips formed a word.

“Simon.”

Her legs were gone gone she couldn’t feel them

She grabbed at the figurines, ripping them off of the dashboard.

“Simon!”

Stomach tumbling over, she’s swallowed butterflies now

The whine of an alarm filled her ears.

Serenity started to scream and she held onto the plastic in her hands as though it were a piece of life itself –

stretched out like a rubber band no oxygen entering the lungs

She blacked out.

First-Person Sample:
Simon.

.....

Hide-and-seek. Her favorite game. Close your eyes and count to ten...

I’ll play with you, Simon.

One, two....

Character: Kurosaki Ichigo
Series: BLEACH
Timeline: From the end of chapter 315
Wiki Us a Bio/History: BLEACH on Wikipedia
Elaborate, if necessary:
PREPARE FOR TL;DR I apologize in advance.

PERSONALITY
Ichigo could very easily be described as laid back, his posture being relaxed, and his attitude towards things and people generally being rather laissez-faire. He usually ignores most other people and if you don't bother him, it's very unlikely he's going to bother you. You could probably go your whole life seeing him every day and not really take any notice of him, if it weren't for that ridiculous hair of his. To the people who know him, they know Ichigo is a rather serious person. That frown constantly on his face isn't just for show, he's very rarely anything but serious and quiet. Despite this he isn't a mean person, and can be quite friendly towards others if they bother to talk to him. He's extremely well mannered towards girls, as long as they aren't immodestly dressed, and also tends to respect his elders [excluding his father, of course].

Of course, being a serious and generally laid-back guy doesn't prevent Ichigo from getting into silly fights, pissing-matches, and retarded squabbles sometimes. He's been known to stop in the middle of a fight and yell at his enemies if they're not making any sense, and is prone to random bouts of petty bickering with less dangerous ones. When his friends don't make sense, or just get annoying on him, he tends to start yelling matches with them too, which typically end in an exchange of fists or kicks.

To his friends he is extremely loyal, and would do absolutely anything for them up to and including laying down his own life for them. His friends are precious to him, and their safety tends to be at the forefront of his mind. This also has to do with Ichigo's desire to protect anyone and everyone he cares about, and even some people he doesn't. Since he hates being the one saved, he somehow thinks that he needs to be the one doing all the saving. This has been a problem for him since his mother's death, and he has felt a deep self-loathing about how he was unable to protect her on that day. Unable to save her, he now has a ridiculous compulsion to protect everyone else dear to him to somehow make up for it, even if he doesn't believe he can ever make up for his mother's death.

Ichigo is extremely stubborn and hotheaded about things, and one he makes up his mind on something it's very hard to persuade him to think another way about it. He's hard headed sometimes, and can be very single minded when he wants to be. Once he has a goal, pretty much nothing can stop him. He's a very proud person, and also has a lot of faith in his own abilities. This sometimes makes Ichigo sound arrogant or cocky, but he doesn't mean to. Usually. On rare occasion, and if the person he's facing is especially arrogant themselves, then he means it.

He has a hard time dealing with authority and figures who uphold it, mostly due to his aforementioned bad temper. He doesn't see the point in following rules, or why the rules were made to begin with, and will oppose anything or anyone who does something that he thinks isn't right. This leads him into plenty of battles he might have otherwise avoided, but he never regrets it.

HISTORY
Ichigo Kurosaki is the eldest child and only son of Isshin and Masaki Kurosaki. Ichigo loved his mother dearly and followed her around like an imprinted duckling. Wherever Masaki went, Ichigo was sure to be there too with his little hand grasped in hers. Whenever he cried, she would kiss it better. Whenever a situation was too scary, she was always there to hide behind. Masaki was Ichigo’s security blanket and anyone who knew him at that age would easily call him a mama’s boy. When Ichigo was still young, his mother gave birth to his twin sisters Karin and Yuzu. The family lived together in Karakura, Japan in the family clinic where Isshin worked. Ichigo loved his two sisters dearly and had a strong desire to protect them, which only grew stronger when his father explained his name meant that he was the one who had to protect those around him from harm. He tried to take it to heart when he started his karate classes around the age of 4, but he was easily one of the wimpiest kids in his class and always ended up bawling his eyes out when he lost. It was at these karate lessons that he met his life-long best friend Arisawa Tatsuki, who was often the one to beat him up during class.

While he’s had a strong spiritual power all his life and has been interacting with ghosts since he was small, he didn’t realize the people he spoke to were dead. His strange interactions with people who weren’t actually there earned him a reputation and soon Tatsuki had to ask if he could really see ghosts. He didn’t understand what he meant at the time, but it wasn’t much later when Ichigo met his first evil spirit, or Hollow. He had been walking home from his karate lessons with his mother in the middle of a downpour. They had been walking near a river and at the edge of the sidewalk there stood a young girl who appeared to be about to fall into the strong waters below. He gave Masaki his bag and ran towards the little girl to try and get her away from the edge. He was never quite sure what happened next, but one moment he was trying to reach the little girl and the next his mother had run in front of him with a startled yell. His mother was soon on top of him, blood pouring down onto Ichigo and her body entirely lifeless. The little girl was gone, and his mother was dead.

That was the end of smiling, happy, and once entirely cheerful little boy people had known. With his mother gone, Ichigo blamed himself for her death and his own inability to protect her like his name implied he should have. He became self-reliant and closed off from those around him; determined to never have the need to be saved again.

When Ichigo was 15 he met his first Shinigami. He was lying in his bed at night, debating weather or not to get ready for bed, when a girl literally stepped through his wall into his room. Freaked out he attacked her and questioned who she was and why a robber would bother talking to herself. This girl was Kuchiki Rukia, a Shinigami from Soul Society, and she was hunting a nearby Hollow. Ichigo didn’t believe her at first, but when the Hollow came, broke through a wall in his house, and attacked his two sisters, his mind was quickly changed. He tried to attack the Hollow but it was impossible for him to defeat it on his own. The Hollow was about to bite right through him when Rukia blocked the blow with her own body. She was critically injured and could not continue the battle, so she gave her Shinigami powers to Ichigo. Ichigo, now out of his body as a Shinigami, quickly sliced through the Hollow to save his two sisters.

Character: Reno (reserved!)
Series: Final Fantasy VII
Timeline: Shortly after the events in Advent Children
Wiki Us a Bio/History: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Characters_of_Final_Fantasy_VII#Reno
http://www.freewebs.com/gunshotromance/reno.htm
http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Turks
http://beyond_a_wiki.editthis.info/wiki/Turk_Info#Nobody.27s_Business_but_the_Turks
Elaborate, if necessary: Reno is a longtime member of the Turks (though officially called the Department of Administrative Research), a group that handles a lot of the underground dirty business for Shinra (led by Rufus Shinra in FF7) and serves as bodyguards to important officers. Reno has a small part in Crisis Core (the prequel set seven years before FFVII), also as a part of the Turks. Along with his appearance in the movie Advent Children (set two years after FFVII), Reno has been a member of the organization for at least nine years. Although his age is never revealed, it’s estimated to be around 25-27 due to the timeline.

Reno's personality is usually laidback, spontaneous, and somewhat cocky. He lacks subtly and can come across as dimwitted because of it, but he has put in his dues to get where he has. Perhaps because of his work, he is questionable of other's motives and comes to his own conclusions about people. He's not above teaming up with an opposing side for the greater good; however he is extremely dedicated to his team. (As seen in Advent Children, even after the collapse of the Shinra empire, Reno and the Turks remain loyal to Rufus.) Although he's far from the strongest fighter in the series, he’s highly trained and ranks just below Tseng (the leader of the Turks) and is considered the quickest of the Turks. He seems to enjoy a good match and gives it his all.

He is usually seen with his partner, Rude. Although it's possible that their partnership may have formed because of the Turks, they have developed a clear friendship over the years they've worked together. Rude is depicted as being socially awkward and quiet, on occasion even relying on Reno to speak for him. They seem to share a similar outlook on life and are at times viewed as taking things less seriously than the rest of their teammates (particularly by Elena, a Turk who appears to hold a grudge against their lackadaisical attitudes).

What are they bringing to Nuadoria?: His weapon (the electro-magnetic rod he always carries)

Third-Person Sample: (Set after Advent Children and Rufus' recovery.)

It was going on way too long.

Reno had taken to pacing the small hallway where he and Rude stood guard. The president had been in a meeting for hours with leaders of environmentalist groups, scientists, and military forces that held ties with Shinra. Ordinarily their extra security wasn't needed for a gathering of acquaintances, but recent events had caused them all to be extra cautious. It was possible when word got around that Rufus was alive, there might be assassination attempts by those who still blamed Shinra for what happened with Meteor. Even though this was an assembly that included high class SOLDIER, the Turks were still relied on in case anything happened.

Yet even though they were Rufus' official bodyguards, they were told to wait outside while the meeting took place. Apparently their presence would make everyone "too tense". Reno didn't see much point in diplomacy after everything had happened, but he kept that to himself. For the most part.

Circling back around the hall, he made a defeated gesture towards his partner. He sensed that Rude was just as eager to get this over with as he was. While they both remained enthusiastic towards rebuilding the Shinra empire, neither one felt particularly useful at the moment. Rude only shrugged, which was even less of a response than he usually gave.

"Are you asleep or something?" Reno asked. He mused over why his partner always wore sunglasses and eyed him suspiciously.

"I'm listening." Rude grunted, tapping the transceiver in his ear.

"...Really? I thought he turned it off." Reno fished his own transceiver out of his pocket and adjusted it to fit. He frowned after a moment, shooting a glare at Rude. "I can't hear anything."

"I'm listening in case he turns it back on," Rude replied in dryly. "That's our job."

"Yeah, yeah." Though Reno outranked him, Rude never hesitated to remind him of his duties. Reno sighed before taking the device off again. He was admittedly more irritable than usual, if only for lack of things to do. He was sure that their talents could be put to better use than sitting around and waiting for something to go wrong. Ever since the deal with Jenova's neck and those obsessive clones, they had spent most of their time waiting for someone else to take a shot at the president. Not that it mattered. He and Rude weren't exactly helpful in that situation either. "If any of those guys were going to cause trouble, this would be a pretty stupid place to do it, don't you think?"

"It's happened before." Rude replied monotonously. His partner had a way of making any of his complaints invalid with only a few words. Reno scratched at his neck, unable to come up with a formidable comeback.

"I just don't see why—" he was cut off as the doors opened and Rufus emerged, followed by several formally dressed individuals. Both Turks stiffened and quickly stood to the side. The group shook hands and exchanged a few words before they politely retreated. As they did, Reno raked a skeptical eye over those he was less familiar with before turning his attention back to Rufus.

"Mr. President," Reno addressed him without hesitation, eager to know how it went. From what Rufus had told him earlier, with the support of the people that were in that room they would be able to fund a new branch of Shinra. After all the time they had spent in the meeting, he expected that it must have gone well.

Rufus was familiar with Reno's tone and answered the unasked question with an ambiguous statement: "We have more work to do." Rufus did not meet the redhead's gaze as he continued in a soft yet stern voice, "We agreed to meet again in the morning."

Reno glanced back at Rude, who he imagined was rolling his eyes underneath the sunglasses. It seemed that whether they were rebuilding or not, it definitely wasn't happening any time soon. He bit his tongue to keep from voicing as much and forced out an easygoing smile. "Glad to hear it."

Character: Miles Edgeworth
Series: Ace Attorney
Timeline: After the end of Trials and Tribulations
Wiki Us a Bio/History: Wikipedia link (warning: spoilers)
Court Records link (slightly more detailed information)

Elaborate, if necessary: Edgeworth is an intelligent, driven young man. He can seem cold, callous, and aloof, and combined with his immense sense of pride, this might give people the impression of being nothing more than a heartless jerk. However, beneath all of this, he has a strong sense of justice and responsibility. He will let nothing get in the way of his pursuit of truth and justice, and will do nearly everything in his power to live up to his new ideals. While most people are met with a cool exterior and wry, sarcastic wit, he can be rather awkward when it comes to personal situations, and is prone to retreat internally when he feels that his pride or dignity has been injured. He would never admit it, but the truth is that he's just as ridiculous as every other character in the series.

It should also be noted that, due to past experience, he has an intense phobia of earthquakes. Even the small ones leave him shivering in fear, and he's passed out at least once from a major one.

What are they bringing to Nuadoria?: Edgeworth has a cellphone, a vaguely futuristic pager, a brief case with his laptop and some legal paperwork, a really fancy pen, and a breakfast on-the-go bar that he never got around to eating. He really needs to take better care of himself.

Third-Person Sample: Edgeworth stared at the display, and blinked. He'd deny that this was even happening, but the rest of the world had already gone crazy. What's one little shop?

He glanced back down at the box of crackers in his hands, before he looked back at its comrades lined up neatly on the shelf. His brow furrowed, and he licked his lips as he reached his hand out. What just happened was impossible; his eyes were playing tricks on him. He was seeing things, just like he did when he had too little sleep in the past, or when that blasted magatama was foisted on him, or earlier this afternoon when sight and sound melted away in the office and left him-

Edgeworth clenched his jaw shut, and ignored the return of his vertigo. He quickly grabbed another box of crackers, and watched the shelf.

The impossible had happened again. In a blink of an eye, another box had materialized out of thin air, instantly replacing it.

He glared at the display, and set the two boxes down near his feet, just a little ways from where his briefcase rested. Just like the boxes, the briefcase was another piece of dead weight, along with uncooperative electronics. He didn't see anyone around this ghost town, and his other methods of contact proved fruitless. His cell phone buzzed with an odd static, his pager refused to connect to anything (so much for that wireless service plan), and his laptop had the same problem, only with the added advantage of a few extra pounds. Edgeworth hoped that he'd find somebody here, but the only thing he found here was food products and further vision problems. In fact, that was the start of this little experiment; after everything kept fading in and out, the irrational part of his mind had to touch something, just to make sure it was still there.

Another box was pulled out, and set down on the pile. Another box came in to replace it, and Edgeworth's glare deepened. Soon he was pulling boxes left and right, and the pile grew into a haphazard pyramid built of cardboard and carbohydrates, as their replacements dutifully came forth to keep the shelf full and neatly organized. Edgeworth felt a slow sweat form over his forehead (but was it real, or another exaggerated hallucination?), and he ran a clammy hand through his hair as he turned around.

"I really am going mad, aren't I?"
